On Saturday, bright and early in the morning, I got to spend some time with the Ryan family being their Avoca Family Photographer. Breanne contacted me via my facebook page a while back and inquired about a family photography session, and I was thrilled to get to know her and her sweet boys. As you may know, I always suggest the evening time for photos, because the lighting during the day when the sun is overhead is pretty harsh. It can create unattractive shadows, or unflattering highlights that can’t really be fixed with editing. Breanne told me that her boys are not evening people though, and that they were their absolute best in the morning- so I suggested having a sunrise session. I actually really love sunrise sessions, and it isn’t often that I get to do them because not that many people would jump at the opportunity to have family photos done at 7:30am.
Breanne told me she would like to do her session at her property, and I’m seriously obsessed with how they turned out. So obsessed, in fact, I edited her entire gallery already (she’s getting 70 images!) and am uploading them to send over to her today. Talk about a quick turn-around.
Her boys, Daniel Jr., James, and Jack looked so handsome, and I’m obsessed with Jack’s giant blue eyes and his anchor tie. Daniel planted a baby pine tree this year, and I loved the photos of him standing next to his little tree. It will be fun to one day look at and compare their similar sizes when that tree matches the other gigantic pine trees that line their property. The sun was peeking through the trees, and, anyone that knows me knows that I’m obsessed with sun flares, and I feel like this session hit the mother-load. It was H-O-T on Saturday, so it was especially great that we had the morning session to beat the worst part of the heat- though I did have to stand there for about 10 minutes at the beginning because the 90 degree heat and humidity was making my camera equipment fog up.
I hope you enjoy this small glimpse into when I was the Ryan family’s Avoca Family Photographer. If you’re looking for a Port Huron area professional photographer, I would love to connect. Please send me an email: info@memoirs.photography.
