This summer has been one for family reunions and photographing them for me, and I seriously love it so hard. Terese was referred to me from my amazing homegirl Kathryn, because she was in the market for a Sanilac County Extended Family Photographer to photograph their large family get together up in Lexington, Michigan. It was an amazing weekend planned to celebrate her brother in law’s 30’s birthday, and the entire family came together and rented a stunning home right on the shores of Lake Huron for a weekend-long party filled with family and lots of laughs.
I ended up spending the evening with them, and it was such a fun night getting to know everyone, and seeing their family dynamic. I mean, any photography session that involves them stopping and hanging out in the kitchen sampling different craft brewery IPAs is my ideal session. It was full of laughter, even when the sky opened up and down-poured and hailed right in the middle of the session. But at the very end, it resulted in a stunning sunset, so, dare I say, it was worth it? Plus the home was so gorgeous (and unique!) it still rendered great indoor photos, as well.
I loved the colors that the family coordinated with (very patriotic and appropriate for the beginning of July!) and all the kiddos were so much fun because they were so excited to have lots of doting aunts and uncles and cousins to hang out with at every single turn.
