Business head shots still remain one of my favorite photography sessions to do, and using Downtown Port Huron as a backdrop was just the icing on the cake. I love the technicality of head shots. I love finding flattering angles. I think it’s the fact that I started out with blogging, I love helping people discover the “image” that they want portrayed for themselves on their site and also in their marketing materials. Outdoor and on-location headshot sessions are also fun, because it takes away the boring monotony of having the typical backdrop photo.
For instance, say you’re a realtor in the Port Huron Area. Wouldn’t it make more “sense” for your clients to see you portrayed in your photos in front of a beautiful house? Maybe with a for sale sign in the yard? Now compare that to the typical back-dropped head shot that you normally see. There’s nothing wrong with that, (and, there is a time and place for them) but your website should show you. In your environment. Doing what you love. Doing what your client is hiring you to do!
Jeff from Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc. contacted me last summer about some updated head shots and marketing material photos. I had an awesome time photographing him in his office, with his cool assistant, Marlo, and outdoors around his office. We used the side of the old Citadel in Port Huron, as well as the front of his new office on Huron Ave. He was really fun to work with, as was Marlo, and we got some great shots that he’s been able to use to update his website, facebook, and brochures.
Are you wanting some updated head shots? We can absolutely do a mixture of backdrop and lifestyle images- that way it’s the best of both worlds! Enjoy these photos from Jeff’s business head shot session in St. Clair County.
