I seriously don’t even know where to start writing about this stunning backyard wedding in St. Clair County, Michigan. I actually want to put “backyard” in quotes, because Nicole’s family’s property could legitimately become the next best wedding venue in Emmett, Michigan. Nicole fondly remembers planting the pine trees with her parents when she was a little girl, and here 25 years later, it transformed into a gorgeous spot for her wedding to her bride, Michelle.
Nicole and Michelle met overseas, and settled on Eastern Michigan as their permanent residence. They have been dating for quite a while, and finally decided to set a wedding date for October. The real kicker was that their date was a mere 5 weeks away. As you may remember, I’ve been second shooting in the Port Huron Area for Courtney May Photography recently, and she approached me at a wedding back at the beginning of October for an inquiry she had received for October 22nd. She was sadly booked, but wanted to know if I would be interested in booking my first ever solo wedding where I was the primary photographer. I excitedly said, “yes!” and was thrilled when Melissa sent me a text a few days later wanting to meet me. I drove out to their farm in Emmett, and could see their love for each other, and I knew it was going to be a truly special day. I was able to book a ridiculously talented second shooter from the Metro-Detroit Area: Ami from Ami Williams Photography. It was awesome getting to work with her and spend the afternoon behind the lens, capturing Melissa and Nicole’s marriage in their very own, intimate backyard wedding. They have such a strong relationship, and I could really tell that they are not only lovers, they are best friends.
I hope you enjoy a few sneak peek photos from Melissa and Nicole’s wedding.
