You may seem to remember the one and only Lucy. Lucy just turned 7 and is hardcore obsessed with all things mermaid, so when her mom Danielle approached me about doing a Port Huron Mermaid Photography Session on the shores of Lake Huron, I was so excited. Doing stylized sessions like this isn’t on my normal every day realm, so it was fun to step outside the box for a minute and work on a creative vision and have it come to life with Danielle and Lucy. For Lucy’s birthday, Danielle ordered a custom mermaid costume, complete with a super legit looking fin and a matching bikini. We all met up at the Fort Gratiot beach, and tried to find a spot that wasn’t too over-run with beach-goers, to make the session appear more realistic.
Danielle slayed Lucy’s hair and makeup look, and Lucy loved spending the time dressing up as a mermaid princess. Lucy has two older brothers, so those little moments that are spent doing some fun girly things are special to her. We had a great time exploring the beach area, and found quite a few locations that worked. We started in the rock area, and I love the beach grass contrast behind her, and then we both headed into the lake. Even though the session was on one of the hottest days this year, the lake still felt cold, but mermaid Lucy handled it like a champ and giggled as the waves splashed over her tail. Then, at the end of the session, she wanted a photo of her swimming away, which was a super fun idea and I love how that photo turned out.
If you’re in the market for a Port Huron Mermaid Photography Session, or have any type of creative session idea, I would love to chat with you and see if we can work together to make that vision a reality. Whether it’s a styled session, or a family session, I’d love to chat: info@memoirs.photography
