Early last week, Becky contacted me because she was interested in having me be her St. Clair Extended Family Photographer, and capture her family while some out of town members were in the area. Her aunt and uncle were visiting from London, Ontario, and do not get the opportunity very often to see this side of her family, as well as her children and grandchildren. This year on their visit, they wanted to document it with photos, which I absolutely love doing. Coming from a large family myself, I know the importance of having regular photos done when those out of town relatives come in to visit.
Gathering up and posting a family size of 20+ people can be super challenging, but luckily, I have lots of experience being an extended family photographer, and I seriously love doing these type of sessions. It always makes me nervous to do a photography session in the middle of the afternoon when the sun is at it’s brightest, however, Becky’s beautiful property ended up being amazing, and had lots of large trees that gave us enough space where everyone could stand, and not have the sun beating directly in their faces and giving the camera squinty eyes.
At the end of every extended family photography session, I like to break the large group up into smaller ones to take smaller group photos. The weather and rain held off nicely, and then absolutely down-poured rain on my drive home.
If you have family members coming in from out of town, or simply want to host a fun family get-together and have me show up to grab some updated portraits, I would love to be your St. Clair Extended Family Photographer, and travel all over St. Clair, Saginaw, and Macomb County to capture these fun moments in life, that are priceless to preserve.
