A couple weeks ago, Zac and his awesome parents hired me to be their Fort Gratiot Senior Photographer, and I had an amazing time showing them around one of my favorite spots to do sessions. I met Zac’s dad and stepmom back in the early spring, and got to hang out with them for quite a while while me and the Mulberry & Sage Photography posse photographed their Port Huron McMorran Place wedding back in June. Once I photograph a wedding and spend such an important day alongside and documenting their family, I really feel like those wedding clients evolve from “clients” into “friends.” That was totally the case with Beth and Mark, and also Zac.
It was fun to catch up with them and learn all the happs of what’s been going on in their lives in the past couple of months; and it’s been busy for them! Between the two of them, they have 6 kids, and I love their real-life modern Brady bunch vibe that they give off all the time. Zac is a senior this year, and wanted to bring his session up into Port Huron, since the beaches are pretty legit up here (as I humbly brag.)
Fort Gratiot County Park is one of my favorite spots to do photos, because there’s such a big variation on the grounds. We can go hang out in the thick wooded trails, and then venture onto the beach, and end in the thick horse’s tail reeds and beach pathways. For seniors that are wanting some beachy-vibed photos, it’s the ideal compromise location. I was able to borrow a fisheye lens from a friend, and when I pulled it out, Zac told me that he really loved that look, and had a lens for his phone, too. So I made sure to capture some super rad horizon and rocky shores, but in the super-cool warped fisheye lens. It just added a bit of fun.
I hope you enjoy this small preview into Zac’s senior photography session.
