A few weeks ago, I met up with Shaina and her amazingly large family when they hired me to be their Macomb County Family Reunion Photographer. I was referred to Shaina and her family through a local SE Michigan photographer’s forum on facebook and I threw my name into the hat because I’ve been booking so many extended family photography sessions lately, and I seriously love them.
I got to meet Shaina and her family at the gorgeous Stony Creek Metropark in Macomb, which is the perfect outdoor location for a photo session. I will say, it was miserably hot that day, and everyone deserves a medal for tracking in the woods with me to find the best spots. And when I say that it was hot, I literally mean it was probably the hottest day of the summer, thus far. It was easily 95 degrees outside, an the humidity was off the charts. But when you organize a massive group to get together for a photography session, sometimes you just roll with the punches, and that’s what Shaina and her family did. They were such troopers!
Stony Creek Metropark in Macomb has so many spots that are simply gorgeous, and I love heading down that way when I can. I love the variation all in one spot, from the wildflower-filled fields, to the deep and dark wooded trails. For this Macomb County Family Reunion photography session, we mostly stuck around the Nature Center of Stony Creek Metropark, because with such a large group, the more manicured areas of the park were the best bet to keep all the kids under control, and spirits high.
Shaina and family, I hope you love your small preview into your super fun (and hot!) extended family photography session. If you’re in Southeast Michigan and in the market for a Macomb County Family Reunion Photographer, I’d love to chat! info@memoirs.photography
