Jeff and Stephanie contacted me around the beginning of 2017 to be their Rix’s Roof Top Port Huron Wedding Photographer in April of that year. You may remember Jeff & Stephanie from their fun Downtown Port Huron engagement session from a while ago. Their wedding was the first ever wedding held in the beautiful new Rix’s Roof Top. If you’re a native to the area, you may fondly remember it as the “Old Fogcutter” restaurant. The Fogcutter closed it’s doors in the early 2000’s, and has sat vacant ever since. It was sad that this venue wasn’t available anymore, because the views of the city are unlike any other.
The Rix family closed their booming location on the St. Clair river, and purchased the old Fogcutter location and set to work to renovate the space beautifully and offer delicious food and drinks that they’re known for at their previous location, as well as a brand new venue that can be used for weddings, meetings, events, etc. While they do not officially open until mid-May, Stephanie and Jeff booked the venue to be their first ever wedding offered in the space.
I was able to photograph alongside one of my Mulberry & Sage partners, Kathryn. Together, we were able to capture some beautiful images that really tell the story of the day, as well as all the tiny little details that Jeff and Stephanie worked hard to create together. My absolute favorite color is yellow, so I was thrilled when I walked inside the banquet room to find the gorgeous white room, beautiful crystal chandeliers, and pops of their yellow colors throughout the room. Stephanie and Jeff had a beautiful day; once again, the weather was in unseasonably warm, and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky, which isn’t your typical rainy spring day in Michigan.
Jeff & Stephanie, thank you for allowing me to capture your wedding day. I hope you enjoy this glimpse into your (nearly finished!) wedding gallery.
We also really enjoyed networking and meeting with the talented local Port Huron DJs: High Fidelity Sounds.
